(ENG) country & 1380 OB briefing

country info!

originally i was going to japan, but because japan rotary cancelled so my correspondent (is this the right word?) got me into south korea!!! yay!
no idea where in korea yet, but i heard korea rotary doesn't take exchange students to many districts so there's not a lot of options.. anyway i'm really grateful i'm going there and so thankful!!

1380 OB briefing

we had a district meeting/briefing in härmä. we didn't do much but there was a lot of good info and practical stuff. we have another one in may. we also have all finland OB students meeting/training thing in lahti in april!

just to make this post prettier, here's a picture of my amazing angry birds-binder, korean notebook and a book im reading. escape from camp 14 by blaine harden. after each page it makes me sadder and sadder. i'd like to go do some volunteer work in korea to help north korean people who escaped!

alunperin olin lähdössä japaniin, mutta koska he japanin päässä peruivat vaihdon niin mun kirjeenvaihtaja sai mulle paikan e-koreaan!!! jee!
vielä ei ole mitään tietoa mihin päin, mutta toisaalta korean rotary ei vissiin ota hirveän monelle districtille vaihtareita niin no ei siinä hirveesti eri vaihtoehtoja sitten oo.... mutta oon tosi kiitollinen että pääsen sinne!!

1380 OB briefing

tossa 19.2 jos muistan oikein oltiin härmässä piirikoulutuksessa. ei hirveesti tehty mutta istuttiin ja kuunneltiin. tuli paljon käytännön asiaa ja säännöistä kertausta. lisäks siel oli yks rotex (entinen vaihtari) kertomassa vaihtarina olemisesta. meillä on vielä toinen briefing toukokuussa ja nyt ens kuussa huhtikuussa on lahdessa koko suomen OB koulutusjuttuasia!

jottei ihan rumaksi postaukseksi jää niin tässä vielä kaunis kuva mun asiallisesta angry birds-kansiosta, korean sanapänttäysvihosta ja kirjasta jota luen nyt!! blaine hardenin leiri 14. aika järkyttävää luettavaa ja joka sivu tulee vaan pahempi mieli. kelasin että olis kiva koreassa käydä jossain vapaaehtoisjutuissa pohjois-koreasta paenneiden auttamiseks!

hyvää alkavaa kevättä! (vaikka meillä vaasassa ainakin tulee vielä loskaa..)

i'm leo/alina! i'm 15 years old and going on a rotary exchange. they're letting us know our country in january-february, but i decided to start the blog already since there's been so much stuff happening already on the rotary front.

  i'm gonna write this blog in english and finnish. basically i'm gonna write about everything related to my exchange, before during and after, and basic everyday stuff about me. if you have some ideas that i should post about, just comment or send me a message! :-)

mä oon leo/alina! oon 15v ja meen vaihtoon rotaryn kautta.... jonnekkin. saadaan tietää maat vasta tammi-helmikuus, mut aattelin alottaa tän blogin nyt jo koska rotaryrintamalla on tapahtunu jo niin paljon.

  kirjotan tätä blogia enkuks ja suomeks. basically kirjotan vaihtoasioista, ennen sen aikana ja jälkeen, ja basic juttuja mun elämästä. jos sulla on joku postausidea niin laita vaan kommentti tai viesti :-)

application and scary deadlines

i'm from vaasa so i sent an application to vaasa's club in august. i just wrote about myself and why i want to go and stuff like that. they invited me to an interview, and soon i got an email that said they put me in 1st place from the applicants and that the district would contact me. so i waited and now in december the district contacted me and i got the full application to fill. it's SO MUCH WORK!! there's dentist and doctor certificates and parent's and student's letters and pictures and a thing a teacher has to fill and.... so much things!!!

  the deadline is officially due the end of this year but because it's so hard to get doctor's appointments and stuff, they have let it go a bit and 15.1 is the final deadline..

  so after i submit the full application, i'll wait for the country info (i think). then in the spring there's two training days and other things, and we leave to the countries in the summer.

  we had to submit a country selection form (which i haven't actually submitted but i'm waiting for that..) and these are the countries:

1. south korea

2. japan

3. usa

4. canada

first choice is s-korea because i speak better japanese than korean. also i maybe love korean and s-korea a little more!
